What is it?

PTSD is a serious condition that affects many everyday.  According to "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)" PTSD is a condition that occurs after a traumatic event.  After that event, the individual affected with PTSD will have trouble not thinking of that event.

What are the symptoms?

There are many symptoms that are easily noticable in an individual with PTSD.  According to "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)" these include depression, self-blame, guilt, and shame, anger or aggression, or alcohol/drug abuse.

What is the individual thinking?

After reading an excerpt from Soilder's Heart, by Gary Paulson, you learn how a person actually thinks with PTSD. He remembers EVERYTHING that happened to him.  In the excerpt he screams "Make it all stop now!"

Who else is effected by this?

The individual is not the only one affected with PTSD, everyone around them is too.  In the text "Daddy's Home" it talks about what the loved ones feel about the indivdual with PTSD. They feel it's their fault that the indivdual is going through this.
